Make Christmas magical for a care-experienced young person

Will you help make Christmas Day magical for care-experienced students?

For many of us, the festive season is a time of joy, family, and celebration. But for young people who’ve grown up in the care system, Christmas can feel isolating and lonely.

While their peers return to family homes, care-experienced students often have nowhere to go.

At Manchester, we know student experience is about more than lectures and exams. Feeling part of a community and creating lasting memories are just as important. That’s why, for over ten years, our University community has come together to host a special Christmas Dinner – filled with laughter, warmth and connection.

Last year, thanks to the generosity of supporters like you, we raised over £3,000 and welcomed all 50 young people to a joyful celebration.

This year, we’re doing it again – and we're determined to make it even more magical.

We need to raise £3,000 to fill every seat around the table – so that every young person has somewhere to go and someone to celebrate with. And with your help, we can go the extra mile – adding thoughtful gifts, better transport options, and special touches to make the day truly unforgettable.

By making a gift today, you’ll help to fill every seat around the table – and make this year the most special yet. Every donation, whatever the size, will give care-experienced students a Christmas Day to remember.

Thank you so much.
