Will you help turn bold ideas into real-world impact?

Becoming Europe’s most inclusive and impactful innovation network? Challenge accepted.

For 200 years, the University of Manchester has been a powerhouse of bold ideas rooted in care for our community. We’ve always pushed boundaries – and we’re still doing it today.

At Manchester, innovation starts with people – their bold ways of thinking, their questions, and their drive to make a difference.

Every year, thousands of students and researchers arrive here full of ambition. Many have big ideas – but face barriers to turning them into ventures that change lives. Some don’t know where to start. Others lack funding, guidance or confidence.

By building a University-wide innovation ecosystem that helps people take action, build capability and grow their ideas, we're changing that. From student-led start-ups to civic collaborations, we’re opening doors for everyone to contribute to progress.

If you give people the freedom of having funding, you’re giving them free rein to deploy it with a sense of responsibility.

What philanthropy provided for me was the option to create something that would shape the direction we wanted to go in. I’m very thankful for that.”
